That photography as a career and business has seen revolutionary changes in the last ten years is an understatement riddled with a complex layer of influencing factors. Decades seem to be designed for moments of pause and reflection. And so it is that this year marks the 10th year of my Fairbanks and Interior Alaska calendar. It has been a visual platform for me to share some of the remarkable scenes and nature nuances that define this rather large region. It is interesting to note that half of the cover photos were taken just a few miles from my home. One of them was taken from the deck of my house, and one from my neighbor’s back yard, about 1/4 mile away. That tells the tale that beauty is not far from us. And I am happy to be one who lives in this dynamic, dark, cold, warm, sunny, expansive area called the interior.
I’m also curious for those of you who have either enjoyed this calendar over the years, or in the observation here, may have a favorite cover image among the lot?
If so, I’d like to hear from you, which one and why?

I like 2011 and the 2012 covers the best (when forced to pick). I was just going to write you and thank you officially for my new calendar. I will treasure your gift and most appreciate the quotes contained within. Thank you Patrick and congrats on your first 10 year anniversary!
The 2010 calendar for me, definitely. I love the beautiful fall colors, sunlight and the fact that you managed to get both landscape and detail in one shot. Those kind of photo’s really appeal to me. That, and the fact that it reminds me of Denali 🙂
This a very hard decision since I love them all!!! I really love the little Red Pole on 2008, but I also love 2012 for it’s simple beauty!!!! I just discovered you about a week ago and you have become my inspiration. I love taking photos of Alaska and sharing them with others. Your photos make me ooooh and awwww, I love them!!!! Congratulations on your 10 year anniversary! 🙂
Thanks Christine, those are two of my favorites also.
2010 for me. Into the sun setting soon and early, brings out the foreground of red . Reminds one of the shortness of the summer season up north!
