Happy New Year
There are only two hours remaining before I leave Ushuia, Argentina on an icebreaker headed for Antarctica, or referred to as the white continent down here. The sign in Tierra del Fuego National Park read about 11,000 miles to Alaska by road. Ushuia is to South America what Fairbanks is to North America. That is, the furthest well populated city near the pole.
My best intentions of making some posts to share in my absence fell victim to Holiday travels and busy preparations for my 3 week absence from my office. So, the 100 yearly favorites post will have to wait until I return in latter January. It will be quiet on this blog until then.
