A trip through the Grand Canyon on a raft is a lot of work and a lot of fun. Besides the daily fare on the river, with whitewater and ever changing tremendous scenery, some of my favorite times were hiking up the canyons, enjoying wonderful campsites and occasionally playing in the river.

Canyoneering up Blacktail canyon, Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona.

A few parts of the Blacktail Canyon require some rope assist for ascent.

Cliff diving from a ridge near the camp across from Deer Creek.

Is that a swallow dive that I have seen before?
Hello Pat,good to see you getting some light again.
Techie question- I seem to have lept off your blog feed- any thoughts?
Mark
Hi Mark,
Yes, that’s the same dive, except no icebergs to dodge at the water’s surface, and not quite as cold as either. As for the feed, it took me a while to figure that one out. It is fixed, i think, and had to do with the total KB size of the feed burn. I reduced image size, and that should help.
