Deer Creek, Grand Canyon National Park
The schedule and pace of moving 280 miles through the Grand Canyon in a raft leaves but a few days to stay off the river and explore. On one of these precious few days, we hiked through the famous Deer Creek, which is a magically beautiful trek. The creek has eroded it’s way through the canyon revealing layers and textures ripe for photographic compositions. It was one of my favorite camps for a variety of reasons, and one of them surely was the hike! The light is flat deep in the canyons, so the lack of dynamic range makes the exposures pretty straight forward. The only problem was lack of time, I could have spend a long, long time there.
