Mt Sukakpak is a notable mountain in the Brooks range, with a prominent set of peaks that change drastically based on the angle of view. It’s always amazing in nature photography, to observe the changes in light and color from day to day, at the same location. Last October, I took these pictures less than 24 hours apart.

Very striking mountain, both beautiful images. I love the light on the peak in the lower image.
Patrick,
Great illustration of the value of coming back to locations again and again. Dramatic shift in conditions in such a short time. One of my favorite features to photograph when I am in that area, especially since it has such a different look from three different points along the Dalton Highway.
Carl,
Yes, return visits are a vital ingredient of landscape photography. That mountain is such a cool feature, I always enjoying seeing it, time and time again.
Alan,
Thanks for the comment.
Your pictures are breath taking. Keep up the good work. I’ve recently started my own blog. http://digitalphotography101.blogspot.co.nz
It’s a blog for beginner digital photographers.
Very nice, Patrick! Thanks for sharing with us.
