The creature I was most intrigued to see on my trip to Svalbard was the walrus on ice. I got half of my hoped for scene, which was the walrus itself, but not hauled out on ice. Still, I had quite an up-close encounter with these giant animals, who exhibited great curiosity and humorous behavior. I took this photo of a relatively young male, while wading in the water along the shore where a few walrus had separated from the larger group on land and were swimming and lounging around in the water.







It is an awesome nature photography as well as the wildlife itself. Bravo ! I spotted some stunning pictures inside ….
Looks like the Svalbard trip was a real success. I’m looking forward to seeing more from that trip.
