Wing prints in the snow. Canon 5D Mark III, 24-105 f/4L IS, 1/320 sec @ f/13, ISO 160.
Finally, it is time to say goodbye to winter in Alaska’s interior and welcome the warmer weather, even though we have set a record for the latest spring green up in recorded history. Snow is melting quickly and soon some color will fill the landscape. I chose this photo of a bird’s wing prints in the snow as a sign off to winter – fly, fly away.

Very innovative photo Patrick, you never cease to impress me
This truly is an amazing capture. Attention to these details is one of the many reasons I enjoy and appreciate your work Patrick. Thank you once again.
Thanks Chuck and Charles
As a bird lover I think this is so awesome and a truly original shot. I’ve never seen anything like this.
