Northern Lights photo galleryThe Northern lights or aurora borealis, are a phenomenon of the night sky triggered by electrical collisions of charged particles emitted from the sun. They are hurled through the atmosphere via the solar winds, and appear in northern latitudes in a variety of colors and shapes. Photographing the northern lights is not difficult, but one must be in the right location. The images below were taken throughout the state of Alaska, mostly in the northern latitudes. All images are available to license as stock photography and may be purchased as art decor prints for home or office. Read more about the northern lights.
