National Petroleum Reserve Alaska stock photography

All of the NPRA pictures are available for purchase as stock photography, or as fine art prints to display in your home or office. The few below have been popular, but there are many more that can be found in the gallery or by doing a National Petroleum Reserve photo search.

The National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska (or NPR-A) is a monstrous 23 million acre region located north of the Brooks Range, largely on what is called Alaska’s north slope. It was originally set aside by president Harding as an emergency oil supply for the US Navy.  The average person knows little about the region, and it is huge. It is a land rich in wildlife and serves as a critical habitat for the Western arctic caribou herd, which is near 400,000 animals in total.
